Sunday wine festival

First I apologise to anyone who came on sunday night. The Kobe wine festival was more than I anticipated and I was last to leave the party again. I was very fortunate to try CH HAUT BRION again and believe me this is one hell of a wine!
To the 1000 people I met at the event CHEERS. I now hope to see you at CHEERS in the near future.
Next yr I would like to invite all the CHEERS people to this fantastic event.

Weekend Wrap

I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays at the moment.
Yesterday was an easy day on the water at Nishinomiya Hama. We caught about 30 Sardines in 2-3 hours of fishing. Emily and Mike had a great time Fishing!

Gewurtztraminer

Last Night I opened a bottle of gewurtztraminer and it was just delicious. Great to try some different wines on the odd occasion. For those who tasted it Im glad you enjoyed too.

that was a great party last night at Cheers. Thanks to those who came and thanks to Mr Hirai for organising a great event. I hope we can do it again!
Im sure there will be plenty of happy people back home in Australia, as the bulldogs have pulled of a convincing victory over the lions.
Well it has been a while since it rained and today is the day. It is a beautiful fresh night here in Nishinomiya, but be careful if youre driving

Not a lot of new news today. I have however taken the plunge and ordered some big guns.
Stand by for Bass Phillip,lakes folly and Yakka Paddock.
Im not sure yet but perhaps we could do a tasting party together. Please give me your thoughts.

What a day

So Im late again. not without good excuse! I have been to kobe today for a course, and I must say how good it is to sometimes head back there. On the way back I called into the Ashiya mariner to see Mr Sakiyama and the crew who havebeen out Marlin fishing. Let me tell you 160kg aint no small fish and what a task trying to carve it up.. Sincere appreciation for the free marlin, I just had it teriyaki style before coming to work. So now that Im here why dont you come in for a glass of wine or two. Cheers

a new week

Well what a week it was here in japan. The political regime that has almost always had control of this country is no more!! Bye Bye!!!! Can the new party step up to the challenge?????????
Wine Australia put on a tasting yesterday in Osaka, good but not great!!! some of the wines were fantastic and expect to see some new products at CHEERS. A little bit of bread to refresh the pallate while tasting would have been appreciated. On the up side, I met some wonderful people and had a couple of good yarns. look forward to working with you all to get those Aussie wines a movin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
